What is your communication style?

What is your communication style? Are you passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive or assertive?

Passive communication can be damaging to your self-esteem, and also to relationships. An aggressive communication style can lead to people resenting you, avoiding you and even opposing you. Assertiveness is the halfway point between passive and aggressive – just the right balance.

Effects of passive communication:

❌Stress

❌Resentment

❌Seething anger

❌Poor self esteem

❌Feelings of victimisation

Effects of Aggressive Communication:

❌People may resent you, avoid you, oppose you

❌Not harmonious work atmosphere

❌Lack of buy in from staff

❌Higher absences & sickness in staff

❌Higher staff turnover

Learning to be more assertive can help you:

🌟Gain self-confidence and self-esteem

🌟Understand and recognise your feelings

🌟Earn respect from others

🌟Improve communication

🌟Create win-win situations

🌟Improve decision-making skills

🌟Create honest relationships

🌟Gain more job satisfaction

🌟Create a more harmonious & less toxic work atmosphere
